I'm Gillian
Hatch Communications and its principal, Gillian Potvin, have been providing the Manitoba marketplace with strategic and creative communications services for nearly 15 years, serving clients in the corporate, nonprofit and start-up
sectors.
Gillian is an experienced and innovative communicator whose key strengths include delivering on-budget, on-deadline results that drive business and brand growth for her clients.
She holds a joint degree with a BA in Communications from the University of Winnipeg and a Creative Communications diploma from Red River College.
Even during her years of study, she was freelancing and achieving results for clients and not for profit passion projects alike. This level of entrepreneurship was evident early on but she felt she wanted to anchor her education with a solid foundation of corporate and not-for- profit experience.
As a corporate communicator at both Manitoba Telecom Services and Canwest Global, she excelled in the corporate world and benefited from the process-oriented cultures. She also learned the value of team work, of corporate structure and annual report financials and regulations. It was the foundational experience she still relies on today when working with large government and corporate clients.
Before opening her own consulting firm, Gillian deliberately spe nt time at Ducks Unlimited as a national manager of media relations. Among many important new skills, she learned how to work in a Board environment and how to achieve results on small budgets.
Combined with her experience as the Principal at Hatch Communications, clients quickly learn that, in
Gillian, they are dealing with a strong and effective team player who is known for her strategic and tactical skills and her never fail ability to deliver on time and on budget.
